The SAMA colours standards have recently been updated to align with international performances.

To be eligable for SAMA colours, an athlete must have been a paid up SAMA member for 2+ calendar years. (Your membership to your provincial masters athletics association includes this SAMA membership)
To apply, please download the latest application form when it is available on the SAMA website (link above).
Please take note of the following:
1. To qualify for SA National Colours to be awarded at SAMA National Championship 2025, you must have achieved the applicable standards twice during 2023 and 2024 only. No qualification older than 2023 will be accepted.
2. In future the standards must be achieved during the calendar year (January – December) preceding the year that it will be awarded. Eg For 2026 you need to achieve the applicable standards twice between January and December 2025 for it to be approved.
